Ovarian Cysts

What are Ovarian Cysts?

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop on or inside the ovaries. They are usually harmless and may resolve on their own, but some cysts can cause pain, irregular periods, or fertility issues. In certain cases, large or persistent cysts may require medical treatment or surgical removal.

Common Causes of Ovarian Cysts

  • Hormonal Imbalances
  • PCOS/PCOD
  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic Infections

What are the stages of Ovarian Cysts treatment?

For larger or persistent ovarian cysts, minimally invasive procedures like laparoscopic cystectomy are performed to remove the cyst while preserving the ovary. In more severe cases, open surgery (laparotomy) or oophorectomy (ovary removal) may be required, especially if the cyst is large, causing complications, or suspected to be cancerous.
